734	tutorial: BEHAVIOUR CHANGE tutorial: BEHAVIOUR CHANGE Now assessable="true" is an attribute of the <worksheet> element of the subject.xml file, NOT the worksheet XML file! Reason: This allows you to quickly see at a glance for your subject which worksheets are assessable, all in the one place. Also, the worksheet XML files are being auto-generated and it's much easier to set the assessability in the subject XML file. Also, the subject XML file is under control of the subject coordinator, while the worksheet files may be written by other people. All around a Good Decision(TM). This involved: * No longer reads "assessable" in present_worksheet. * Now the Worksheet class has an assessable attribute. * In present_subject, every time it runs, it will check the assessable attribute of each worksheet against the DB to see if it has changed, and if so, it will update the db. It DOES NOT update the mtime in the DB when it does this (to make sure the worksheet XML still has a chance to update the DB). All above claims are tested and work.	mattgiuca	16 years ago

Realised that if create_worksheet was used to update assessable, then mtime would be set to the current time, and therefore when you go to update based on the worksheet.xml, it will look like it's already up-to-date. BAD!! Therefore, you use set_worksheet_assessable to update the "assessable" field without setting the new mtime.	mattgiuca	16 years ago
732	db/tutorial refactoring: db/tutorial refactoring: In db.create_worksheet, problems and assessable are now both omittable. If omitted, they are NOT CHANGED in the DB. This allows you to update one of these fields but not the other. Propagated this same change up to tutorial.update_db_worksheet, to give it the same new interface. Did not change the behaviour at all. Reason: Upcoming change (put "assessable" attribute in the subject.xml file, NOT the worksheet xml file) will require separate database updates for the exercise list and the assessable flag.	mattgiuca	16 years ago

(Added other helper functions too). apps/tutorial: Expanded handle_subject_menu to include display of scores. (NOTE: IVLE does not apportion marks at this stage, just displays scores). * Displays under each assessable worksheet the number of mandatory exercises completed. * Displays at the bottom of the page the total number of mandatory exercises completed for the subject. * Note: Neither of these displays are visible if there are no assessable worksheets. If this doesn't show up, check that you have at least one worksheet with an 'assessable="true"' attribute in its top level element. Fixed in Firefox 2, but Firefox 3 seems to do something odd with EditArea's iframe. You can just set the height from 'auto' to 100% but it seems to somehow make it larger than the area avalible. The database now stores a cache of all the worksheets and what problems are contained within each, for the purposes of determining marks. This cache is automatically written to the database when someone visits a worksheet in the website. If the worksheet file gets updated (touched), then the database entries will be refreshed (so it is kept up to date). At this stage, it isn't used to compute anything, it just gets stored in the DB and updated. Also added an "assessable" attribute to the worksheet element in the worksheet XML, and an "optional" attribute to the exercise element, also in the worksheet XML. (Both of these are optional, so it won't break existing worksheets). Both default to False, so by default worksheets are not assessable, and assessable worksheets have all-mandatory exercises. users.sql: Added worksheet and worksheet_problem tables to the DB. common/db.py: Added methods get_worksheet_mtime and create_worksheet. tutorial/__init__.py: present_table_of_contents now gathers up details about all the exercises. present_worksheet now gets top level details. Added function update_db_worksheet, which checks the time stamps and updates the database if necessary.	mattgiuca	16 years ago
